A Look Into Real Madrid's summer of 2022

Real Madrid, the indomitable kings of Spain will look to usher in a new era next summer with the opening of the new Santiago Bernabeu. The pride of playing for the Los Blancos, wearing the royal white jersey, playing for the batch and being an emotion for millions of people worldwide is no small task. Every footballer dreams to play for legendary clubs like these, but with times things are changing. The shift in power in European football, from the traditional powerhouses to newer and wealthier clubs has become apparent in the last few years. Amid this power shift and a raging pandemic, the royal club still holds strong. Here are my views on how Madrid can have the perfect transfer window in the summer of 2022.

OUTs

1.Marcelo

Marcelo is a legend, there can be absolutely no doubt about that. The best left back of his generation is on his way out of the club after agreeing a deal with a club in his native Brazil, although him retiring at the end of the season is also an option. Madrid has been blessed to have witnessed both Marcelo and Roberto Carlos, arguably 2 of the best in their positions. But ever since 2018, following Cristiano's departure, his form has gone down. That iconic Marcelo x Ronaldo duo will go down in history as one of the best partnerships of all time.

2.Bale

Gareth Bale, probably the greatest Welsh player of all time should be the next player to leave. Bale has found considerable amount of success during his spell at Madrid, notably winning 4 ucls and forming the BBC with Benzema and Cristiano. But more recently, his wages, antics off the pitch has made him unsettled and he looks to leave the club in the summer.

3.Mariano

Why was he even bought in the 1st place? Giving him the number 7 shirt right after Ronaldo was a disrespect to the legendary number. Mariano is far from a first team place and is only a back up for now, he might leave, he might stay.....but only as a backup.

4.Isco

Isco was pure magic at peak, but he couldn't sustain his form. With a delayed world cup next year he seems set to leave in search of regular game time. The only problem?....his wages.

5.Vallejo

It might seem a bit harsh, but honestly I want him to leave. He's just 24, playing in a smaller team on a regular basis will help him develop. He has had his share of bad form, but age being on his side, I see him leaving this summer.

INs

1.Mbappe

Does it surprise you that Madrid will finally get their man after such a long battle with PSG? Mbappe has been on Madrid's radar since powering Monaco to the Ligue 1 and UCL semis. He has always been seen as the heir apparent to Cristiano Ronaldo, the player who deserves to wear that number 7 jersey. Everyone knew he would play for Madrid one day, but no one knew he would come for FREE. It just might become the signing of the century if he continues to show his quality. He can be the center of the new project, the one who ushers a new era into the hallowed Bernabeu.

2.Rudiger

I have my apprehensions whether I want him or not. Sure he's been good at Chelsea, but can he play in a back 4? If he comes and becomes a regular starter, then either Mendy or Militao will loose gametime. Miguel Gutierrez and Marvel will also be a victim. The plus sides of this deal are his experience, his age and the deal being free. Madrid have had defensive issues this season and having him will be a good addition.

3.Cancelo

We need a right back, its as simple as that. Carvajal is always injured and getting old, Vazquez is not good enough. We need an established right back, and who better than Joao Cancelo? Now, you might ask, why not Trent or James? My answer is because Joao is defensively better, makes those inside runs and can speak Spanish as well, which is a big factor while settling in. Plus his g/a is astounding for a right back, and with the budget Madrid has, 60-70 million for him is no big deal.

4.Haaland

I don't want him. Hear me out, no doubt he's one of the best player in the world and being so young, he'll improve. The problem is his agent Raiola, the same man in-charge of Zlatan and Pogba. Look at Zlatan's career, changing clubs is no big deal for him, there's no stability. Since the day Pogba arrived at United, there has been constant rumors of him leaving, which has created a toxic environment. If Madrid do spend 75-80 million on his signing, they would want him long term, not for 2-3 seasons, which is rare for a Raiola player. Same reason I don't want de Light. And no chance for Vlahovic, we did the same mistake in case of Jovic. Canadian Jonathan David has been linked with Madrid in the recent days, but do we really need another striker next summer?

Summary

The summer of 2022 will be like that of 2009, the beginning a new era. With the new Bernabeu opening full strength and a budget in excess of 200 million, good times are coming. What I really want to see in this Galacticos 3.0 is the use of the Castilla players like Marvel, Arribas, Blanco, Miguel, Iglesias and many more. They are the future, the future is white....HALA MADRID!

THE SHIFT IN POWER IN EUROPEAN FOOTBALL : A FAN'S VIEWS

Football, the sport we love, the players we adore. Football gives us strength, courage, hope, a plethora of emotions like anger, happiness, sadness all within a span of 90 minutes. Football, as we know should always be for the fans. Fans or as I like to call them, the supporters should be the heartbeat of our wonderful sport. But lately, in the last decade or so there has been a shift in power in the footballing landscape in Europe, the hotbed of football. Its not a surprise that whatever happens in the European football scene is likely to influence the world football in some way or the other. Amid a raging pandemic and the rise of economic power houses entering this domain of the beautiful game, here are my views on the shift in power that has been so apparent in the last few years ; 1. The Economic Condition of the Players Football is for the players who play it, there's no two ways about it. For a footballer, its his job. They are lucky enough to turn their passion into their ...

THE GLADIATORS BEATEN AT THE COLOSSEUM

Real Madrid were shockingly defeated by Getafe away from home in their first league match of 2022. The goal, coming off an error by Eder Militao was enough to give three points to a Getafe side which Madrid were expected to beat. Madrid never looked the same after conceding the goal, and were nervy before a late final push to find the equalizer. The gaffer Carlo Ancelotti rightly pointed out that the players were still in " christmas mode" as Madrid looked far from their usual best. Here's me looking into the positives and negatives of our game vs Getafe; The Starting Eleven With leaks coming in from almost every possible source that Eden Hazard will start the game, it was widely expected that the Belgian will start upfront along with Benzema and Asensio. Marco Asensio, a player who starts on the right wing but likes to drop down in the midfield could have made the formation a bit for dynamic, changing from the usual 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2 at times with Hazard and Benzema upf...

KYLIAN MBAPPE

Dear Kylian Mbappe,  Hello Kylian, how you doing? I hope you are pretty good, after all the fresh bag you just got must have made you feel like a God, innit? How is the smell of those crisp euros or dollars or whatever the f**k they paid you in....does it smell good? Fresh? Or does it smell of blood? Blood from the dream you just killed, blood from the soul you just sold. We, the faithful Madridistas, have encountered a lot of turmoil over the years, but yours truly stands out, for we loved you, we adored you, we wanted you to play for us at any cost.....we made extraordinary sacrifices for you, we had a DREAM for you, the one you just killed yourself. I remember seeing a picture of your younger self, in a room full of posters of my club, of my favorite player, of OUR favorite player....the one who meant the most to you, to me and to millions worldwide.... Cristiano Ronaldo. Wasn't he like a God for you? Your everything, according to your former teammates? Didn't you dream of...

Chelsea vs Aston Villa ( Date - 26/12/2021 )

Chelsea won 3-1 vs a Gerrard-less Aston Villa thanks to a Jorginho double on boxing day. As entertaining the match was, here are my thoughts on both team's performance:- CHELSEA ●  Chelsea started with a 3-4-3 and looked threatening from the onset. The wing backs, especially Alonso kept running up and down the flanks providing the width. The 3 man defense with Silva in the middle played wide but were quick to squeeze in the spaces to block the shots from the likes of Ings and Watkins. ● The midfield 3 in Chelsea, especially Kante impressed me a lot. His ball carrying prowess is criminally underrated. Whenever the wing backs put in the crosses,3 men were already waiting in the box with Kante running in for the rebound from outside. His long range shooting is very good and Tuchel looked to capitalize that. ●Jorginho was essential, not only from the spot, but his ability to break plays and spread the ball outwards is so good. Chelsea had more passes in the opposition half, more touches and...

THE PLAYER : FOR CLUB OR COUNTRY? AFCON SPECIAL

Football, the beautiful game we all love and enjoy, should ultimately be for the players. Its their job after all, to honor their contracts and be professional under every instance, no matter how challenging the situation is. The players who are European and American, including both the North and South, are often helped a great deal by their federations as well the respect they receive from the fans and society. A Brazilian or a Spanish player has a different aura about him in any league he plays . The continental showpieces of Europe and South America, the Euros and the Copa America respectively, are watched admired by people worldwide. This respect and admiration, however drains down the gutter when it comes to the African and Asian tournaments, or the players in that sense.  An African or Asian player will have to work a lot harder in order to make the name an European does. But when the disrespect towards a player, community or even a country is aimed at a continental sh...
